yeowin for the yeowomen

1/4/2014

The Oberlin Yeowomen pulled out a dominant win over the Wooster Fighting Scots last night 86-71. The final score doesn't show how close this game was. At halftime the Yeowomen had a slim lead, as they were only ahead by four points. Earlier in the half the Yeowomen had a 20 point lead, their largest of the night. Wooster kept on fighting back by capitalizing on missed three-pointers by the Yeowomen and pushing the ball in transition. The Yeowomen had an inconsistent first half as they only shot 41 percent from downtown. The second half was a different story.
The Yeowomen had a stellar second half, they scored 43 points and shut down Wooster's offense, as they only shot 32 percent from the field. Beyond that the Yeowomen were able to create turnovers as they had three blocks compared to Wooster's one in the second half. That was not all, Lillian Jahan had a superb night scoring 27 points and leading the way for the Yeowomen.
This was a great win for the Yeowomen, their first in the NCAC. The Yeowomen are now 6-5 and 1-1 in conference play.
Next home game: January 8th against none other than Kenyon. One more thing BEAT KENYON!
Tune in for the next Yeowomen blog post on Januray 8/9th
