Jeremy Langford 2 yard td run to end a 13 play 73 yard Michigan State drive and make the score 10-7 Stanford to start the second quarter.
Stanford first drive of second quarter ends in a punt that puts Michigan State at its own 20. First play of drive is a 22 yard pass that puts Michigan at their own 37. Three plays later the Spartans are forced to punt. The next Spartan drive Connor Cook throws a painful pick six while under pressure. Score now 17-7 Stanford with ten plus minutes left in the quarter. Stanford defense keeps dialing up the pressure on Cook and forcing him to make bad throws. Cook makes Stanford pay with a big completion over the middle of the field for 24 yards to keep the drive going. Then Langford catches a ball out of the backfield on a swing route and goes for a first down to the Stanford 20. Next play, Cook goes way downfield to Fowler to the Stanford three-yard line. A few plays later Cook is called for intentional grounding but defensive holding offsets the penalty. Cook makes up for penalty on the next play with a touchdown pass with 28 seconds left in the half. 17-14 Stanford at halftime. Comments are closed.
