“Monday Night Football” was interesting to say the least. Gene Steratore blew several calls, including a potential touchdown pass from Brady to Amendola early in the third quarter. Brady was scrambling to the right sideline and he lofted a pass towards Amendola, which Amendola caught. The officials assumed that Brady was going out of bounds and according to Dean Blandino the,” line judge lost track of the football, blew his whistle inadvertently,” costing the Patriots seven points. The Patriots could have been up 17-3 midway through the third but thanks to Steratore the Bills were still in the game. Steratore Is not the only official to blow calls, the officiating this season has been sub par at best and it has made football hard to watch.
Terrible calls and long officiating meetings, thanks to Gene, squandered the Buffalo Bills-New England Patriots game. Steratore had to call a meeting on a 1st and 10 during the two-minute drill to determine if the Bills had a first down. WTF. I could have made that call from my couch. Steratore had numerous meetings throughout the game for calls that should have been made directly after plays. On top of that, the game lasted near four hours and it was nearly impossible to watch, unless you are enamored by multiple commercials about old spice and Rex Ryan acting like a crazy man.
The game was more of a reality TV show than an actual football game. Rex Ryan was enraged throughout the game at the officials and his team for not showing up on the biggest stage. Bill was well Bill, he didn’t flinch but he showed his frustration against the officials as well. All I have to say is that if the NFL was looking for ratings during Monday Night Football, they sure did not get them.
ESPN also decided to troll the Patriots yet again with a tweet about Spygate and Deflategate. Then a few minutes later they sent out another tweet congratulating the Patriots on their win. What is going on with ESPN?
ESPN needs to pick a side and stick to it because either way, the Patriots will continue their revenge tour next weekend at Denver
