In case you missed it, Adam "Pacman" Jones went off on a major rant following an 18-16 loss to the Steelers this past Sunday. He wasn't the only one who took out his frustrations on and off of the field. In other news, David Bowie, the all time great singer and actor passed away in his home after battling cancer for 18-months yesterday. He will be missed but, back to football.
Let me introduce you all to Vontaze Burfict, the man who almost won the game for the Bengals and then threw it all away. Burfict picked off Landry Jones with 1:22 left in the 4th quarter while the Bengals hung onto a 16-15 lead. After picking off the ball in a diving fashion Burfict proceeded to get up and run towards his own end zone, which could have spelled the end to the Bengals season if he was not touched on the way down. Either way, Burfict would make another mistake that would cost the Bengals their season. With the Steelers driving with less than one minute to go in the 4th quarter Burfict would crush Antonio Brown as he ran a crossing route for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Pacman would follow in Burfict's footsteps and get into a verbal boxing match with the referees costing the Bengals another 15 yards. The real question is what the hell what Marvin Lewis doing?
In case you didn't know, Vontaze is a dirty player and you need to control him when your season is on the line. He was clearly exuberant following his interception but that doesn't make up for de-cleating Antonio Brown and costing you and the rest of your team the game. You need to do something other than grab Vontaze and yell at him throughout the game. Keep him on the sideline even if it does cost you the game. That game was atrocious, some of the worst football I have ever seen. Players were doing whatever they wanted, Burfict was blowing people up and Pacman went off on a terrible rant about the refs. Control your players, man up, and get shit done.
